Accountant/Accounts Receivable
Our growing company is searching for an Accountant/Account Receivable who will take ownership of accounting and administrative tasks including but not limited to processing transactions and keeping updated and consistent books, bank and credit card reconciliations, month/quarter/year closing and reports, billing, and documentation.
This person will interact with external contacts and internal departments to fulfill requests and resolve discrepancies in a timely fashion. We are looking for a person with a high level of commitment, self motivation, and eagerness to learn and grow. An inquisitive mind, combined with a high attention to detail are keys to success in this role.
As a Accountant/Accounts Receivable you will:
• Maintain all general ledger accounting and ensuring accuracy in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and the company’s policies and procedures
• AR details and control accounts, adjusting entries for prepaid amortizations, preparing fixed asset depreciation and accruals, adjusting entries for billings or cost in excess, cash receipts and bank reconciliation, and other required activities to keep updated the financial information.
• Maintain accounting controls by following policies and procedures complying with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements
• Support with monthly and quarterly state sales tax filing, and other requirements
• Resolve discrepancies
• Assist in pulling documentation for audit requests
• Respond to inquiries and research in a timely fashion
• File records and maintain the filing system
• Engage in special projects as needed
Skills and Qualifications
We are looking for a person with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or equivalent technical experience, with extensive knowledge of standard accounting policies and procedures. Experience in construction industry preferable.
The ideal candidate is a passionate learner eager to grow, has a high level of commitment and self motivation, an inquisitive mind, high attention to detail, time management skills, a strong ability to organize and prioritize, deadline-oriented with strong work ethic, customer focused with a desire to serve in team environment.
Effective oral and written communication skills, team working skills and a professional and courteous demeanor are required. Our fast pace and constant change benefits from a high level of creativity, resilience and adaptability.
Experience with Quick Books preferable.
